Batesville Weekend

July 24-25, 2009

With the Topless 100 just a few feeks away the Vaught team had plenty of practice on hall of fame Billy Moyer's home track.  Friday and Saturday night held back to back races in Batesville over the weekend for the MSRA and MARS series.  Friday night started the team of in the direction they needed.  Winning his heat race early in the night Vaught qualified for the pole position.  Taking of easily Vaught led past the half way point till a fan blade would break a power steering line.  Using his own force to keep the car on track Will was able to still finish second to Bill Frye.  With friday night behind them the crew set out for victory the second night.  Winning another heat race would qualify him for the second row outside posistion behind pole sitter Jeremy Payne.  Saturday night would end up as just another race finishing in the top 10 the car was off pace with the changing track.  Still a great weekend of racing and now looking forward to returning to Batesville and claiming a Topless 100 Victory.  For more race results visit www.dirtondirt.com

Top 10 Finish

Spring Valley, MN - July 8, 2009

Wednesday night Will Vaught ran the World of Outlaws show far north at the Deer Creek Speedway.  Let me first say that these guys know how to pack a track and have some high tech equipment for the job. With that at hand it made for some fast racing. The number 1 machine was looking quite clean considering the hard hit it took the night before. Will took to the track turning a decent qualifying time and placing him on the 4th row in the heat. Only taking the top 4 to the A-feature Vaught claimed an easy 3rd setting him up for a 6th row start later in the night.  Only a hand full of cautions held vaught's track position almost all 50 laps.  A top 10 finish at a high banked tight corner track would be the end result of Will's first time visit to Deer Creek.  For race results dirtondirt.com

Fastest Time AGAIN

Faley, IA - July 7, 2009

Tuesday night didn't bring many racers to the cornfield hidden track of Farley, but that didn't stop Will Vaught from setting the fastest time again.  Only 3 heat races were held for the 25 cars attending including Birkhofer and Shirley.  Vaught won his heat putting him in the third row for the feature.  Will quickly jumped to the front to lead Birkhofer for the first 25 laps.  Caution after caution made it impossible to seperate the cars, around lap 30 Vaught was spun in turn 1.  Starting tailback and working his way through heavy traffic Vaught took the low groove and was spun again this time ending at the high side of the track on turn 2.  After taking 2nd a few weeks ago in Farley the team had a car that was going to put him in Victory Lane if it hadn't of been for the turn of luck.  For complete race results dirtondirt.com
