Will the Thrill...Was I destined to race? According to my Mom I almost wore out my 'Little Tikes' car, graduated to a battery operated 4 wheeler, then to riding a motorized 4-wheeler by the age of 3. At the age of 4 I had watched Dad set the governor enough times on my 4-wheeler so it wouldn’t go so fast and I set it back. My parents saw me flying by the window and realized what I had done. So was I destined to race? Absolutely.
I began racing go-karts at the age of 10 and by 14 was racing a Factory Stock. Like many other Nascar drivers had done before me, my parents drove me to the track and then turned me loose driving and winning against people twice my age or older. I then ventured into an IMCA “spec” Late Model winning the Rookie of the Year honors at Monett Speedway.
The past two years I’ve race the “Open” Late Model division. I am currently the 2005 Lebanon I-44 Speedway Track Champion and have a total of 11 feature wins. My dreams are to move up through the Nascar ranks up to a Sprint Cup Championship. So it is with a humble heart, dogged determination, and not feeling even a flicker of intimidation by other drivers, I believe dreams do come true! What a thrill indeed. |
